Did you know?
•75% of all playground injuries are the result of falls
•When you invest in your playground, make sure that safety surfacing is at the top of your list
The ASTM guidelines allow up to 200 g’s to qualify as an approved safety surfacing. This is a measure of the forces during de-acceleration
•A professional boxer hits their opponent at 50 g’s
•A concussion occurs at 100 g’s
•The ASTM allows up to 1,000 Head Injury Criteria (HIC). This was determined back in 1960 with the data available at the time
•Some manufacturers sell product at 975 HIC and do not account for aging of the product.
The new test data from the auto industry indicates that children under six should not be subjected to an HIC over 570 HIC
With this in mind, we offer a great selection of surfacing to protect your kids and provide the right fall protection for your site and budget
Engineered Wood Fiber

Engineered wood fiber is an economical playground surfacing used on nearly 3/4 of all playgrounds in the U.S. because of its high impact absorbing qualities, yet firm, slip resistant surface that, if properly installed, allows for wheelchairs and strollers to traverse across it. Less expensive products such as sand and pea gravel just aren't accessible.
Woodcarpet® by Zeager is certified by IPEMA per F1292 and F2075 standard test methods. In fact, Zeager has their own test equipment to perform testing on their surface in-the-field. That means we can test our products in all sorts of conditions (hot or cold) to make sure they perform properly.
It's not required, but we want to make sure we consistently provide a top notch product at a competitive price.
Woodcarpet® products by Zeager are backed by a comprehensive warranty program with over 10 million dollars in liability insurance. We protect you our customers and give you peace of mind. When you purchase Woodcarpet® surfacing products by Zeager we offer installation instructions to help you get the most out of your surfacing.
