Tucked among towering evergreens, Hidden Creek Park West brings the theme “woods gone wild!” to life through a bold, story driven playscape, developed in collaboration with MIG and shaped by strong community input.
At the center of the park is Oro, a friendly forest giant crafted from cedar and brought to life through a close partnership between Earthscape and Northwest Playground. This large scale, sculptural play experience spans the ground plane and offers multiple ways to climb, explore, and gather. With an outstretched hand and elevated leg towers, Oro encourages imaginative and social play, while also creating quieter spaces for rest and discovery.
Designed as an inclusive and accessible park for people of all abilities, the playground pairs its signature play sculpture with intentional site features that help reduce barriers to play. Stable surfacing, accessible parking, and thoughtfully designed amenities support a more welcoming experience for all users. Beyond the play space, water play, looping pathways, exercise areas, shade structures, a hammock grove, and a mural contribute to a dynamic and connected park environment.
The community selected the name “Oro,” a nod to Hillsboro and the Spanish word for gold, reinforcing the park’s identity as a place shaped by local voices and shared experiences.
