Designed as an extension of the classroom, the new playground at Jennifer Rosen Meade Preschool supports early childhood development through hands-on, play-based experiences. Grounded in the school’s philosophy of exploration and discovery, the space encourages children to climb, imagine, and build confidence in a safe, engaging environment.
Natural colors, wood fiber surfacing, and organic forms reflect the Pacific Northwest setting, while scaled play houses and interactive panels create opportunities for sensory play and imaginative storytelling. Nature-inspired elements and gently contoured climbers invite younger children to explore at their own pace, reinforcing a connection to the surrounding landscape.
A central play structure with slides and elevated platforms provides more active experiences, supporting movement, balance, and social interaction. Integrated within a warm and welcoming synagogue community, the playground serves as a shared space where children, families, and educators can gather—creating a vibrant outdoor environment rooted in connection, creativity, and play.
