Highlands Park - Renton, Washington

Highlands Park in Renton received a full playground renovation focused on creating a more engaging, accessible play destination for the community—while increasing the overall park/play area footprint by 30%.The project scope included removal of existing equipment and surfacing, plus new safety surfacing, drainage and grading, and updated site amenities to better support day-to-day use.

Designed to serve multiple age groups, the renovated playground includes dedicated 2–5 and 5–12 play experiences, with new climbing and sliding opportunities, as well as high-value freestanding elements that invite movement, spinning, and social play.

Finishing touches such as site furnishings (including benches) and engineered wood fiber safety surfacing help create a welcoming, park-ready environment that is comfortable for caregivers and fun for kids—built for durability and everyday community use.
