River Grove Elementary - Lake Oswega, Oregon

We collaborated with the Lake Oswego School District to design an inclusive playground that goes beyond accessibility, creating a space where all children can actively engage in play. Working within limited space and budget constraints was a challenge, but it was essential to ensure the playground seamlessly fit within the overall site layout of the newly built school. To enhance inclusivity, we incorporated tile surfacing, ramping, and Playworld’s infiNET climbers, making the space both engaging and accessible.

The project includes two distinct play areas: one for ages 2-5 and another for ages 5-12. The 5-12 play structure features five slides, Playworld infiNET net climbers, and a gaga ball pit, with integrated shade structures providing sun protection. The 2-5 area includes a smaller play structure and a set of swings, offering age-appropriate play opportunities. The green and gray safety tiles were carefully selected to complement the playground’s color scheme while also ensuring a fully accessible surface, allowing children of all mobility levels to enjoy the space.
