The Totem Lake Park playground was designed to enhance a newly developed residential area in Kirkland, WA. Serving as a complement to the nearby shopping district and multi-family housing, the park also provides key access along the Cross Kirkland Corridor. Northwest Playground Equipment collaborated with Berger Partnership on the playground design and safety surfacing.
The playground features a Playworld infiNET structure with net climbers and slides, seamlessly integrated into the natural topography of play berms and mounds. Additional play elements include a dynamic spinner, creating opportunities for movement and exploration.
To enhance the play value, the landscape architect incorporated vibrant colors throughout the design, even weaving them into the playground’s turf. Three Tornado shade structures add both visual interest and functional sun protection, appearing as if they are leaping across the play area.
