Northwest Playground collaborated with the City of Kent to bring to life a unique playground at the Lower Russell Levee, now known as Van Doren’s Landing Park. In partnership with ID Sculpture, Playworld, Dynamo, and Poligon, we aimed to create a destination park where families could gather and create lasting memories.
The centerpiece of the park is IDS Mount Rainier—a site-built play feature that boasts the largest of its kind, offering a geologically accurate scaled down version of Mt. Rainier. Working closely with ID Sculpture, we crafted a custom Mount Rainier-inspired concrete climbing structure with three slides down the mountain.
Additionally, the park features a Playworld Ship Playground, designed to engage children of all ages, and a zipline designed to provide a thrilling experience for kids aged 5-12. The Dynamo Spinner adds to the excitement, offering a challenging yet enjoyable experience for children as they climb and spin.
The playground also includes Playworld Swings, catering to children aged 2-12, and two custom Poligon shelters, enhancing the park’s amenities and inviting families to gather and relax. With its diverse range of attractions, Van Doren’s Landing Park has truly become a destination for all to enjoy.
